system cramp

I went to work yesterday, and everything seemed pretty normal except that I was working at a different branch and then I went home after a long day at work and saw this cute guy at the cell phone shop in the morning and then didn't remember him at all, and then i saw this young boy (I mean a really young, say, 15 years old) who came by a few weeks ago and I saw him walking by with his mother. He's sort of geeky and seemed goody but he's adorable and I'm very sure that he's going to turn into someone cool, in a good way. I mean, you don't often see a 15 year-old who cares very much about his school project, do you?

Then, I went home and turned on the computer, thinking of going online and then I saw an error in the InCD icon at the taskbar so I went to check my Nero. A alert popped up and said that one of my Operating Systems' files are missing. Then I found out that someone had downloaded a program from the Internet and suspected that it was the cause.

And I was slightly lucky (sort of) that I read about the Systems Restore function that comes with the Microsoft Millenium Edition (ME). I learned it because it had something to do with the time my PC was infected by virus. So I restored my system and realize that I never did a Restoration Point and the latest point I had was in June 2003 (about a year ago). I didn't really look at it and proceeded and realized that it was 2003!!! Man, you cannot believe, I cried a bit cuz I was sick of going through all the processes of installing all the drivers I had in my computer since June last year.

When it was restored, I realized that some stuffs had changed. They detected my Aztech modem and my burner as new hardware. Hate it. Yeah, I was the one who configurated the connection and the modem back then but I don't even remember what I had that day or what I did. I was searching for the NIC's driver and everything and the last thing I remembered, the diskette they provided me back then was damaged. I recalled going to an Internet-connected place somewhere to download the driver from the Internet.

However, i did remember that I kept a backup of the driver but didn't remember where I put it. Then, I realized that the O.S. came with the driver and I installed it and all that. Then the installation of the modem, the burner and the others continued but I'm not sure if everything's functioning normally cuz I haven't tried all the programs. I had a feeling that some setting was changed back to the old days and I even had to reinstall my Google Toolbar. the thought of going back to the past was dreadful even it was my systems going back to the past and not me. I had to move forward, though.

Just when I thought that I had such a nightmare, my cousin called at 10-something at night and asked, "Why is my computer shutting down 60-seconds after I opened my Internet Browser?" Omigod, that's SASSER!!!
